Event: Workshop SAYACARE : My daily balance : Healthy lifestyle habits
Event summary: My daily balance: Healthy lifestyle habits
On November 29, Sayaspora’s premises were transformed into a veritable sanctuary of well being for women from the African diaspora. As part of the SAYACARE project, we organized the workshop “My daily balance: Healthy lifestyle habits,” a necessary break to slow down, recharge, and learn to prioritize mental and physical health.
Objective of the event
This workshop aimed to provide participants with concrete tools to integrate well-being into their often busy daily lives, while offering a space for deep relaxation and sisterhood.
Cultivating healthy habits with Lesly
The main workshop, led by Lesly, explored the pillars of a balanced life. Through dynamic discussions, participants were able to identify the obstacles to their well-being and leave with actionable strategies for taking care of themselves without guilt.
A moment of absolute relaxation: Massages and Matcha
Because self-care also involves the body, the event offered a unique relaxation space. Under the expert hands of Jacqueline, participants enjoyed relaxing massages, while a Matcha stand and healthy snacks prepared by our team allowed them to prolong this moment of bliss in an informal networking atmosphere.
Authentic connection and exchange
Beyond the workshops, this event was a valuable opportunity for women from the diaspora to come together, share their wellness tips, and forge strong bonds in a safe and welcoming environment.
On the agenda
Learning | Relaxation | Gourmet exchanges
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., participants enjoyed an immersive experience that included:
• Welcome speech and presentation of SAYACARE’s mission
• Interactive workshop on healthy lifestyles with Lesly
• Individual massage sessions with Jacqueline
• Networking area with a Matcha stand and healthy snacks
• Closing and sharing of experiences in a soothing atmosphere
A breath of fresh air
This event served as a reminder of the vital importance of taking time for oneself. Each participant left not only with practical knowledge for achieving daily balance, but also with a feeling of lightness and the strength of a community that supports her fulfillment.
The SayaCare project
SayaCare, supported by the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, is an initiative of Sayaspora that aims to reduce inequalities in access to healthcare for women from the African diaspora in Canada. Through workshops, a podcast, a multilingual guide, and an awareness campaign, SayaCare creates spaces where women can learn, express themselves, recognize each other, and take care of themselves with dignity and confidence.
We firmly believe that taking care of one’s overall health is an act of resistance and autonomy.
