Module 6 – Cultural entrepreneurship: how to structure and finance a creative project

Module summary

Led by two complementary speakers, this workshop addressed both project structuring and financing strategies. Participants learned how to clarify their idea in less than 30 seconds, define the foundations of a solid project, and avoid common mistakes (blurred vision, unrealistic budget, isolated management, and a paralyzing quest for perfection).

The second part of the module provided a concrete overview of different financing options: self-financing, crowdfunding, loans and microfinance, competitions and prizes, strategic partnerships, and grants (municipal, provincial, and federal). Through practical examples and methodological advice, participants learned how to prepare a solid application that meets funder criteria.

This workshop concluded with an individual action plan: each participant identified an immediate action to take to move forward (clarify their pitch, develop a detailed budget, contact a resource person, seek a grant, etc.). The module thus gave participants the concrete means to transform their creative vision into a feasible and financed project.
