Volunteer Opportunity: Visual Content Creator

Sayaspora is currently looking for a Visual Content Creator for about 5 to 10 hours per week.

Whether through stimulating projects like Making your way up, Diaspora Speaking Festival or Culture, Sayaspora’smission is to promote the African diaspora in Canada, which is why we need your help ! 

Description of the organization

Sayaspora is a Montréal-based non-profit organization that amplifies the voices of young women from the African diaspora in Canada through cultural, media, and community-based projects. Through initiatives such as Making Your Way Up, Conversations d’Impact, and Dialogues de la Diaspora, Sayaspora creates spaces for reflection, creation, and dissemination that foster inclusion, representation, and collective empowerment within marginalized communities.

Position description

We’re recruiting new volunteers! We expand our team year-round to support the fulfillment of our various missions within the African diaspora.

The person will have to…

  • Create high-quality video content and ensure consistency across all social media platforms in accordance with established strategies
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to meet requests for digital content creation
  • Align with the various strategies in place
  • Become familiar with the use of content creation platforms such as Canva, Capcut, etc.
  • Stay up to date on trends and best practices in content and social media
  • Be responsible for creating video content plans (production schedule, mood boards, etc.)

Ideally, the person will have…

  • At least 1 year of experience in visual content creation
  • Proficiency in Canva
  • Proficiency in Capcut
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A keen sense of design and visual aesthetics
  • A good understanding of social media conventions
  • Initiative and independence

Position features

  • Hours: 5 to 10 hours per week
  • An up-to-date resume is required
  • A portfolio must be submitted with your application
  • Attendance at team activities and meetings is mandatory
