Imagine a young artist, standing in front of a blank canvas, full of ideas but unsure if their voice will ever be heard. Or a passionate youth leader with a dream to create change but no resources to bring their vision to life. What if there was a way to turn those dreams into reality? The Michaëlle Jean Foundation (FMJF) is doing exactly that—providing young people with the tools, funding, and opportunities they need to make an impact. Whether you’re an artist, an activist, or an entrepreneur, FMJF has something for you.

Here are two exciting initiatives that are changing the game:

1. The 4th Wall: Making the Invisible Visible

Ever felt like your voice didn’t matter? The 4th Wall initiative is here to change that. This flagship program gives young artists the chance to create meaningful artwork that brings awareness to social issues they care about. But it doesn’t stop there! Their work is showcased in major cultural institutions like the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Art Gallery of Ontario, sparking powerful conversations with decision-makers, community leaders, and the public. If you’re an artist aged 17-30 with a passion for social change, this is your chance to shine. And yes, funding assistance is available!

Why you should apply:

  • Get your art featured in prestigious institutions.
  • Work with mentors and professionals to develop your skills.
  • Use your creativity to make a real social impact.

Application: Coming soon. Keep an eye on FMJF’s website for details.

2. Creative Youth Entrepreneurship Program: A Way of Life

You’re an artist, a creator, or an innovator. You love what you do, but making a career out of it? That’s the tricky part. FMJF is here to help! The Creative Youth Entrepreneurship Program is a six-month initiative designed to introduce young creatives (17-30) to the world of entrepreneurship. It provides mentorship, business training, networking opportunities, and even startup funding for those who complete the program.

This initiative prioritizes Black, Indigenous, racialized, LGBTQ2+, and newcomer youth, ensuring that creative entrepreneurship is accessible to all.

Why join?

  • Gain hands-on experience in creative business.
  • Receive financial support and guidance from industry experts.
  • Join a vibrant community of young entrepreneurs and mentors.

Application: Coming soon. Stay updated via FMJF’s website.

Why These Initiatives Matter

In a world where young voices are often overlooked, these initiatives are changing the narrative. They’re breaking down barriers, opening doors, and proving that youth-led change is not only possible—it’s happening now.

So, what’s next?

  • If any of these programs speak to you, APPLY!
  • Know someone who would be a great fit? Share this with them.
  • Follow FMJF and be part of a movement that is shaping the future.

The question isn’t can you make a difference?—it’s when will you start?
