Carène Tchuinou Tchouwo

Director of the Board

Carène is originally from Cameroon and arrived in Quebec in 2015 to pursue graduate studies in management. She holds a Ph.D. in Administrative Sciences from Laval University and is currently a professor of innovation management at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM). Her research focuses in particular on entrepreneurship among immigrant women in Quebec, the dynamics of North-South partnerships between Africa and Canada, and issues related to the digital transformation of the African continent.
Through her research, teaching, and community engagement, Carène is particularly interested in mechanisms that promote inclusion, economic empowerment, and the recognition of talent from diverse backgrounds. Convinced of the African diaspora’s potential as a driver of change and innovation, she is involved with Sayaspora to help develop leadership among young African women, promote knowledge sharing, and strengthen ties between communities here and abroad.
