Girl, Summer is finally here, and you know what time it is?

Hot Girl Summer! Soft Girl Summer! European Girl Summer! Lover Girl Summer! And you name it.  However, during all the enjoyment, longer days and sunburns, you need to remember to stand on business and balance fun with financial responsibility.  With soft life living growing in popularity, we now more than ever understand the need for ease is your birthright. With the cost of living soaring, how can you enjoy the ease and comfort of a soft life without breaking the bank? We’ve got you covered with tips to make #Summer24 your best yet, without overspending.

Inflation who?? We outsideee!

Set Those Spending Boundaries, Girl!

We all know how hard it can be to say no to drinks with your girls on a rooftop or terrace, Nevertheless, if you have people-pleasing tendencies and find it hard to say no to spending, set boundaries with yourself and others. Find ways to socialize that don’t revolve around big expenses. If you often end up spending more than you plan, have a conversation with your friends about more budget-friendly activities which involve spending more quality time and fun together. Many factors influence our spending habits, like scarcity mentality, high-maintenance friends, or social media comparisons. Setting boundaries can help you take control of your finances and reduce unnecessary spending.

The “B” Word

Budgeting might make you sigh right?!. Girl, same!

But it’s essential especially as inflation is high up in the sky and the cost of living is outrageous.

If you don’t have a budget that works, try the 50-30-20 rule by U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren. This simple plan divides your after-tax income into three categories: 50% for needs, 30% for wants, and 20% for savings. This straightforward rule can help you manage your money more effectively. This will help curate your expenses to more enjoyable and intentional funtivities.

We Inside Summer 24

After being in lockdown, many of us were excited to spend the summer outside, catching up on everything we missed. However, it might be time to regroup and change “We Outside” to “We Inside.” Constant outdoor activities can quickly lead to overspending. You don’t need to be in a sundress and sunglasses as soon as the sun comes out. There are plenty of fun and inexpensive indoor activities that can help you save money while still enjoying your summer.

Consider joining running or walking clubs, which are becoming the new “Hinge.” Book clubs can stimulate your intellect and challenge you, while outdoor workouts like yoga, step, and stretching help keep you fit.

Social media platforms like TikTok are full of creative indoor activity ideas. Cooking book clubs are gaining popularity, or you could try a paint-and-sip session at home to explore your inner Picasso. Other fun options include cocktail making, baking, movie nights, and game nights with friends and family, perfect for some chaos and laughter.

By embracing “We Inside,” you can have a memorable and enjoyable summer without breaking the bank.

Cancel Unused Subscriptions

Girl, you know you’re not getting any use out of that subscription, and you know which one. It’s time to cancel those subscriptions you’re not using. Whether you signed up on impulse or with good intentions, if you’re not using it, you’re wasting money. Free up those funds for something that brings you joy this summer. And remember, you can always resubscribe later if you change your mind.

More Ways to Save Money

One thing about us is that we do not shy away from free or discounted deals. Look for free local events in your area, you may be pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable they can be. Invite your friends to attend these events with you and make this summer a lit one.

Take advantage of the loyalty programs offered by your favorite stores and restaurants to enjoy discounts and exclusive offers. You can also save money by preparing fun inexpensive meals at home instead of dining out. Exploring thrift stores and online marketplaces can also help you find great deals on clothing, furniture, and other items. By incorporating these money-saving strategies into your routine, you can watch your savings grow while enjoying the things you love!

Embrace the Simple Moments

Summer is almost here, and while living a Pinterest-perfect soft life might seem challenging, you can still have a sweet summer without overspending. Be creative, think outside the box, and find ways to make your money work for you. Remember, it’s often the simple moments and experiences that bring the most joy. Most importantly, remember to stay present and enjoy your summer without financial stress!
