Menelika Békolo Mekomba
President
Born and raised in Cameroon, Menelika arrived in Canada in 2004 to pursue her university studies. Today, she is an electrical energy engineer and manager in the field. Menelika is also a community leader, actively involved in causes such as diversity and inclusion in workplaces, particularly in scientific environments, promoting science and engineering among women, and welcoming and integrating immigrants into Canada. Her leadership and active engagement in social issues and her field of expertise led to her designation in the "100 of Black Canadian Women to Watch in 2019" and as Inspirational Women by the Association de l’Industrie Électrique du Québec (AIEQ). In 2018, she embarked on a return to studies in law with the goal of becoming a lawyer, an objective she is on the verge of achieving. Menelika also has recognized experience in governance. She has been serving on various boards of directors for several years, including the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec, the Fondation de Polytechnique Montréal, and the TechnoScience network. She is a member of the Groupe des Trente (G30) of Concertation Montréal, a governance initiative propelled by the City of Montreal.
