Volunteer opportunity – Social media strategist

Sayaspora is looking for a Social Media Strategist for approximately 5 to 10 hours of involvement per week.

Whether through stimulating projects like Making your way up, Diaspora Speaking Festival or Culture, Sayaspora’smission is to promote the African diaspora in Canada, which is why we need your help !

Position description

We're recruiting new volunteers! We’re expanding our team to welcome several African women who will be willing to work with us toward the betterment of our communities. Women Changemakers. We are currently looking for a Social Media Strategist responsible for the development and strategy of Sayaspora's social networks. This volunteer experience will enable you to: - Find a community of inspiring, generous and mobilized young African women; - Participate in a project that has a real impact for young women in the African diaspora; - Benefit from the Sayaspora network; - Access to all Sayaspora-developed events and many more benefits!

The person will have to…

  • Create and manage Sayaspora's social media strategy and promote content in line with it
  • Develop relevant digital campaigns for our social media channels
  • Define editorial calendars and ensure compliance with budgets
  • Develop Sayaspora's video content strategy and ensure its implementation with content creators, community manager and digital development manager

Ideally, the person will have…

  • Excellent ability to develop and deploy social media strategies.
  • Solid skills in digital content creation and management
  • Good priority management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with different teams
  • A good knowledge of current social media trends
  • A good knowledge of social media in their entirety

Position features

  • Start date: End of October 2024.

  • Term of office: 1 year with possibility of renewal.
