Sayaspora is looking for a Director of Finance and Administration for approximately 5 to 10 hours a week.

Whether through stimulating projects like Making your way up, Diaspora Speaking Festival or Culture, Sayaspora’smission is to promote the African diaspora in Canada, which is why we need your help !

Position description

We're recruiting new volunteers! We’re expanding our team to welcome several African women who will be willing to work with us toward the betterment of our communities. Women Changemakers. We are currently looking for a Finance and Administration Manager responsible for managing the annual budget and preparing financial reports for Sayaspora's various activities. This volunteer experience will enable you to: - Find a community of inspiring, generous and mobilized young African women; - Participate in a project that has a real impact for young women of the African diaspora; - Benefit from the Sayaspora network; - Access to all Sayaspora-developed events and many more benefits!

The person will have to…

  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with general management.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly financial performance.
  • Prepare financial reports for Board meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Manage contracts and relations with suppliers.
  • Provide financial and administrative support to various teams and departments.
  • Analyze financial and administrative resource requirements for various projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Partnership Lead and Fundraising Lead for grant management and fundraising.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to donors.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as defined by management.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Analytical skills to identify resource requirements.
  • Ability to work with different departments.
  • Team management skills, with the ability to lead and supervise as needed.
