SayaSafe is a group discussion dedicated to urban security in Montreal for young women in the African diaspora. We are thrilled to welcome you to this community where we can support, inform, and act together to create a safer and more inclusive environment for all of us in Montreal.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to raise awareness and educate about the unique urban security challenges faced by women in Montreal, and to share experiences, testimonials, and tips for navigating the city safely. SayaSafe aims to mobilize our community for collective actions that promote safety and well-being and to create a space for mutual support, resource sharing, and strengthening community connections.

To join SayaSafe, download Thinkific from the App Store or Play Store, search for SayaSafe and join the discussion group. Once on the platform, you can engage in
four categories: General, Announcements, Advice, and Surveys.

When you click on “General” in the toolbar, you’ll find resources and techniques to enhance your safety, as well as the group’s guidelines. This section also provides a space for open discussions and idea exchanges on urban security.

Please share important announcements and information about safety events and workshops with members. These sessions are designed to offer valuable knowledge and practical skills to enhance everyone’s well-being in various situations. We encourage all members to attend these informative events to strengthen their safety knowledge and skills.

Click on “Advice” to share tips on staying safe in Montreal, discuss the latest security measures, and learn from each other’s experiences. Whether you’re a long-time resident or new to the city, your insights can help others navigate the urban landscape more confidently. From neighborhood watch practices to safe routes for late-night walks, every piece of advice contributes to the community’s overall safety.

Participate in surveys on the platform to contribute to making Montreal safer. Your feedback is essential for understanding the community’s needs and concerns. By sharing your experiences and suggestions, you play a crucial role in shaping effective safety measures.
