The 31st of July is the International African Women’s Day. To celebrate, we decided to introduce you to some outstanding emerging women change-makers.
These women work in different fields, from art to entrepreneurship, they even exceed the borders of the continent to settle in its diaspora. They do not stop at any social limits and respond to the world in their own way. They design a fruitful future, colored with equity, equality and respect.
This generation of women draws a new Africa. They do not whisper, do not stay quiet, they speak their truths and make their voices heard.

CEO of her own Public Relations Firm-Anyiko PR that has more than 8 established musicians spanning across Africa, from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda to even as far as Nigeria. Recently she was hired as the first ever Entertainment/Music Publicist for Coke Studio Africa.

Ilwad dirige le Centre de la paix et des droits de l’homme d’Elman à Mogadiscio, en Somalie. Le Centre Elman est le tout premier programme de la Somalie à prendre en charge les victimes de violences basés sur le genre et à fournire des services de conseil, de soins de santé et de logement aux femmes dans le besoin.
EKEMINI DAN ABIA

She is the founder of Le 18 Derb el ferrane, an alternative cultural space and artist residency in the old medina of Marrakech.

A Liberian national, Saran Kaba Jones is the founder of Face Africa, a non-profit organization that provides access to clean and safe drinking water for rural communities in Liberia, using an innovative social enterprise model to fund water projects. Aside from choreographing “This Is America,” Silver is an accomplished creative entrepreneur. Her GOAL is to “take Afro dance and Afro culture to the world and then take the world to Africa…No matter how much is going on—even if it’s the middle of a war or poverty or hunger—one thing Africans share is we dance our sorrows away. Not even professionally, it’s just a part of our culture.”
KARIDJA TOURE
Karidja Touré est une actrice Française d’origine Ivoirienne faisant ses débuts au cinéma à 19 ans avec son rôle dans « Bande de filles ». Aujourd’hui âgée de 24 ans son cv s’est bien rempli avec d’autres rôles au petit et grand écran.
Dernièrement, elle prend part à l’ouvrage collectif « Noire n’est pas mon métier » ouvrage dénonçant les conditions et injustices que peuvent vivrent les femmes noires dans le milieu du cinéma Français.

Aweng Mayen Chuol est une mannequin Sud-Soudanaise, Kényane et Australienne de 19 ans à la beauté atypique bien qu’évidente. Étudiante en Politique et Psychologie, elle a pour rêve de créer son empire hôtelier qui accueillera des personnes sans-abri et dans le besoin.
Définie par son entourage comme une personne altruiste c’est une jeune femme à la carrière prometteuse qu’il faut suivre de très près !

« This Artist Painted God as a Black Woman and Got a Lot of People Mad » – BET
Harmonia Rosales est une Afro-Cubaine Américaine de 33 ans ayant décidé de mettre fin à cet art patriarcal blanc qu’elle voyait exposé dans un grand nombre de musées, en remplaçant ces personnages masculins par des femmes noires.
“Nous avons été sous-représentées, et mal représentées, pendant si longtemps que je pense devoir peindre pour nous valoriser. Nous avons besoin d’images fortes pour nos jeunes.” Son objectif est d’arriver à mettre un terme à ce conditionnement conscient comme inconscient: voir les personnages blancs masculins comme puissants et autoritaires.
