Volunteer opportunity: Special Projects Manager

Sayaspora is looking for a Special Projects Manager for approximately 5 to 10 hours of involvement per week.

Whether through stimulating projects like Making your way up, Diaspora Speaking Festival or Culture, Sayaspora’smission is to promote the African diaspora in Canada, which is why we need your help !

Position description

We're recruiting new volunteers! We’re expanding our team to welcome several African women who will be willing to work with us toward the betterment of our communities. Women Changemakers.

As Special Projects Manager at Sayaspora, you will be in charge of managing and coordinating strategic initiatives, including special projects and the organization of events in the new premises. You will work closely with the team to ensure the planning, execution and follow-up of these initiatives.

The person will have to…

  • Develop, organize and supervise projects and events in line with Sayaspora's mission.
  • Manage the logistics, budget and resources required for their implementation
  • Collaborate with other departments and partners to ensure consistency and impact of initiatives.
  • Develop communication and promotional strategies to maximize the impact of events and projects
  • Identify and mobilize funding and partnership opportunities to support initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate results, preparing reports for management.

Ideally, the person will have…

  • Experience in project and/or event management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Autonomy, creativity and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of event management and communication tools.

Position features

  • Start date: April 2025
