Volunteer opportunity: Visual content creator

Sayaspora is currently looking for a visual content creator for around 10 to 15 hours a week, specialized in Canva and graphic design, to enrich its visual identity and digital strategy.

Whether through stimulating projects like Making your way up, Diaspora Speaking Festival or Culture, Sayaspora’smission is to promote the African diaspora in Canada, which is why we need your help !

Position description

We're recruiting new volunteers! We’re expanding our team to welcome several African women who will be willing to work with us toward the betterment of our communities. Women Changemakers.

As Special Projects Manager at Sayaspora, you will be in charge of managing and coordinating strategic initiatives, including special projects and the organization of events in the new premises. You will work closely with the team to ensure the planning, execution and follow-up of these initiatives.

The person will have to…

  • Design engaging and consistent visuals for social networks, in line with Sayaspora's visual identity.
  • Create Instagram carousels, stories and other digital media using Canva.
  • Adapt visuals to different formats and platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Work in collaboration with the content team and digital strategists
  • Follow graphic trends and propose innovative ideas to boost our online presence.

Ideally, the person will have…

  • Experience in creating visual content and mastery of Canva.
  • A keen sense of design and visual aesthetics.
  • The ability to respect a graphic charter while adding a creative touch.
  • A good understanding of social networking codes.
  • A strong sense of initiative and autonomy.

Position features

  • Start date: End of April 2025

  • Term of office: 1 year with possibility of renewal.
