CALL FOR APPLICATION : Consultant Lead Partnerships

Sayaspora is looking for a Lead Partnerships Consultant to be involved for 35 hours per month.

Whether through stimulating projects like Making your way up, Diaspora Speaking Festival or Culture, Sayaspora’smission is to promote the African diaspora in Canada, which is why we need your help !

Position description

Sayaspora is a media organization whose mission is to amplify the voices of young women from the African diaspora. The Sayasphere project aims to propel the empowerment of African diaspora women in Canada by building Sayaspora's internal capacity in the areas of governance, collaboration, financial sustainability and visibility. Through this project, Sayaspora hopes not only to reach more women in the diaspora, but also to strengthen its impact on Canadian society as a whole by contributing to the advancement of gender equality and diversity.

The person will have to…

  • Develop and manage a partnership strategy in line with Sayaspora's medium- and long-term vision and plan.
  • Through direct prospecting, recruit new, trusted partners to support Sayaspora's objectives.
  • Create and nurture a network of feminist partners supporting women of the African diaspora in Canada
  • Collect and analyze relevant research on the challenges facing African women in Canada to establish a knowledge base that will serve as a foundation for future initiatives, including the creation of a literary magazine.
  • Participate in relevant industry events to secure profitable and strategic deals for Sayaspora
  • Work closely with the fundraising consultant to identify and develop joint initiatives that will support Sayaspora's mission.
  • Design and manage creative public relations activations
  • Assume any other tasks and responsibilities assigned by management, according to Sayaspora's needs

Ideally, the person will have…

  • Proven experience in partnership development, relationship management and prospecting
  • In-depth understanding of issues related to women of the African diaspora in Canada
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Creative project management skills, including public relations and influencer collaborations
  • Experience in the non-profit or community sector is an asset
  • Passion for gender equality and diversity issues
