SAYASPORA is open to submissions from African women writers.
Articles must be in the format of interviews, open letters, opinion pieces, music, movies or book reviews and feature articles.
Articles must cover Africa/contemporary African diaspora-related events and topics, especially those that center women. Submission should challenge normative ideas about gender, sexuality, race, development, ideas of modernity and “Africa” as an academic subject.
Entries in English or French will both be accepted.
How to submit your article:
Articles should be sent in .doc or .docx formats at firstname.lastname@example.org
Articles should have a suggested title – subjective to change
Articles should have a featured, thumbnail image
Images are to be sent separately in .jpg format and copyrights/photo credits should be provided beforehand
Include a short bio (up to 100 words), including name and occupation
Provide any links to your social media pages and/or work.
Submissions must be previously unpublished articles.
We will contact you only if your article is selected for submission. Selected articles will be reviewed and edited accordingly.
Writing with us will not be remunerated as we are all working on a voluntary basis. But don't shy way! Writing with us will help us further promote the narratives of African women globally!
